Here's what you can do right now

The Board of Education needs to hear from us. Email them directly to share your thoughts and concerns about the current plan. Here are some ideas to get you started:

• Staging is safest and least disruptive for the children and will allow us to create the best long term outcome.
• The loss of green space on the current proposal is not reflective of our community's values. 
• A finished building so close to a pond and woods creates long term and ongoing safety challenges for the teachers and parent volunteers tasked with keeping students safe during recess.

General board meetings are a great place to have your voice heard. Even if you cannot attend in person, the general meetings are shared via zoom. You can also submit a comment to be read by the board that will recorded as part of the public record. Keeping the downsides of this project part of the AAPS discourse depends on all of us to communicate our concerns until a resolution can be found. 

The bond meetings, which are separate and only held over zoom, are worth watching if you want further insight into the process behind the decision making.

We currently have a petition urging the BOE to save the green spaces in the final Thurston plan. 800 people, including teachers, parents, students, alumni, and neighbors have signed. By adding your support you will automatically be placed on the mailing list to receive communications about progress and calls to action.
